We had two bathroom exhaust fans not vented out and another contractor shortcut resolved. This is the second time we’ve hired Popejoy to resolve roofing issues. What makes Popejoy standout to us is the communication from the estimate through completion of the repair.

Mike, John and crew came out to help address some issues with water intrusion around our chimney. They made sure they came out right after tuckpointing was done by a local chimney company to beat the next round of storms. Popejoy replaced failed decking, shingles, etc. around cricket/chimney, and
re-flashed the chimney to ensure everything was done the right way. Crew worked efficiently and kept work area clean throughout job. It is our second time using Popejoy, our first experience was full shingle job on a different house and they will continue to have our business.

We had 3 roofs replaced in the past 6 months by Popejoy Roofing! We had 2 roofs replace in the Fall of 2025 at our family farm and they did such an amazing job we hired them for our own family residence in March, 2026. When they replaced our roof at our home residence we ended up having a big storm that evening with hail and high winds and the roof had no damage just hours after the team was finished. Popejoy Roofing did both jobs in one day and the clean up was so fantastic we couldn’t even tell they had been there! Popejoy has done several projects for us over the past 4 years. Each has been performed professionally, on time and on budget. The latest project involves siding and roofing from a hail claim. I would recommend them for any siding or roofing project you may have.
PopeJoy Roofing recently worked on the roof drains for one of our flat roofs, and we were very impressed with the quality of their work. Flat roofs are notoriously difficult to maintain, but they handled the job efficiently and professionally.

Popejoy was subcontracted by Enger Brothers to install a roof vent. It was not an easy task as our roof is old and not made with shingles, metal or rubber. They did an unbelievable job. No leaks. Clean cuts. I am super impressed with their work and they certainly deserve a 5 ⭐️ rating!! You will never be disappointed with their work.
Pope joy was very professional and fast, got our gutters removed and replaced with new gutters in only a few hours we’re so happy with our new gutters would definitely recommend to anyone
I had Popejoy do a complete siding overhaul on my bi-level home and back shed along with new roofs after a recent hail storm. Popejoy was not only the best with communication and responsiveness but their price beat out every other contracting company by a landslide. Their warranties on products and labor are great and they have been always been very courteous and timely. I highly suggest Justin and the guys over at Popejoy!
I used Popejoy for a complete roof replacement on a large two story home. They were very professional every step of the way. The estimate was well documented and thorough. Most roofers in the area didn’t want the job due to roof pitch and size. Of the estimates I received Popejoy was the lowest with the highest quality shingles.
I wanted to make sure that the roof would be dried in on the first day. Popejoy indicated they had a large crew and would get the roof dried in before they left the first day.
Popejoy showed up early on the day promised with a very large crew. They not only got the old roof torn off, three pieces of plywood replaced, and synthetic felt down, replaced 3 skylights, and put down 90 percent of the shingles on the first day! They started at 6 am and worked until almost 9 pm.
The work quality was top notch and the roof looks fantastic!!! Popejoy filled out my insurance form the same day for a discount on my homeowners insurance due the high quality shingles.
Cleanup was excellent and the crew was very polite! I couldn’t be happier with the progress and results. Zero issues after several heavy rains. Highly recommend!!!!
We have used Popejoy for a roof repair in the past, and then for a roof replacement. Popejoy’s professionalism has impressed us, especially in an era when other contractors often fail to follow through. Their staff is courteous and responsive, and their installation team was respectful of our property.

I started some extensive renovations at the end of October, including vaulting a ceiling in an old addition on my house. To my surprise, I opened the ceiling to find numerous leaking areas through the sheathing on the roof including a number of other stains–the previous roofers used shingles on a low-slope roof. It was already November, and I needed to replace the whole back roof. After contacting a number of contractors, Popejoy not only came across the best but also had a reasonable quote–not the lowest, but not the highest. Not to mention they use Malarkey shingles, which are really good quality and can last a long time. I worked with Abraham who was always responsive and very easy to get things scheduled/figured out. He also gave really good advice when he came out for a consultation. They did a great job on the roof especially considering it’s December and it needed to be done quickly. The crew was in and out in less than a day installing both a low-slope roof system and normal shingle portion as well as cutting in a new ridge vent. They also did a great job cleaning up afterwards. I would definitely recommend looking into Popejoy for whatever roofing project you have.
There are a lot of great roofers here in Central Illinois. I chose a local favorite in Popejoy Roofing out if Farmer City. Their price estimate was reasonable and fair. They also use good Shingles made by Malarkey. Their workers came out on a cold and windy day and did not stop u til finished with my roof on the same day. That included roughing out 4 x 8 sheeting, and rebuilding my soffit that was lost from a recent tornado. I found the crew bosses easy to talk to and knowledgable. I highly recommend them for any roofing need you may encounter.
The team at Popejoy is Top notch! Derrick did a great job coming out inspecting our roof and taking the time to take me ont he roof with him to show me his findings! He met with me on a Sunday to complete the contract and even awnser his phone when I had a question late one leaving. Mike’s crew showed up. Kept everything extremely neat and tidy as they tore off 3 layers of old shingles, replaced rotten wood and put on a whole new roof all in the same day! When the crew was done they did a great cleaning my property! Other than my great looking new roof I can’t even tell that they were ever here! I highly recommend these guys!

I’ve had the best experience that anyone could have with a roofing company! Just like most people, my roof was, damaged with the hail storm of 2020 and I got it fully replaced last July 2021! I had to call a few very reputable companies who were busy at the time (I understand) but were not very helpful (price-wise) especially with my contract with public adjusters. I was frustrated and upon talking to my insurance representative, he recommended Popejoy and 2 other companies! I was between Popejoy and another very reputable one who was also willing to work with me on the public adjusters contract.
However, upon speaking to Tom (Popejoy Roofing) who was very nice and understanding, he immediately recommended Derrick. And with no time, Derrick came to inspect and wrote a very fair estimate! Popejoy was awesome to work with and Derrick in particular went all the way to help me getting out of the contract I had with the public adjusters. I also had a hole in the fascia which Derrick fixed at no extra charge.. He did an awesome work with my insurance company and was able to get my skylights replaced too! Because of his very fair price, I was even able to upgrade for a better quality shingles! I’m 100% satisfied with their honesty, professionalism, and quality of work! Derrick is very helpful, straightforward, punctual, and easy to work with! I highly recommend Popejoy Roofing and Derrick service in particular! 🙂 A+ company!
P.S. Never sign with any company that knocks on your door as a Public Adjustor! NEVER! Also, it’s always better to work reputable local ones
I would highly recommend Popejoy Roofing. Their communication was top notch! I dealt with the Joel, Tom, and Justin all them kept me informed and they did exactly what they said. I have a two story house with attached garage they showed up at 545am and left by 4pm the roof was tore off and new was put on. They left the yard cleaner than it was when they came. A window screen was damaged during the tear off process, they had it fixed locally and installed the next morning by 7am.
I started out thinking I just had storm damage but when Derek inspected he found a much more serious problem. No drip edge had been installed on my roof when it was done well before I bought my house. This caused damage to the wood under the roof to the fascia. He gave me a very reasonable estimate and advice on how to get the funds. They squeezed me in to replace the roof as fast as they could to prevent further damage. Everybody was great to work with. They did my entire roof in 6 hours and cleaned up afterward. Gutters will be installed next week. I’m so happy. 10/10 would recommend. Excellent service and everyone was incredibly nice.

Our roof was a victim of a July hail storm. Popejoy was the second company I contacted based on positive word-of-mouth reviews. Derrick Roy was prompt in scheduling an inspection and followed up promptly with his findings. The builder of an addition to the original home used less than adequate decking and Derrick worked hard with the village inspector and my insurance company to allow the decking to be replaced to be code compliant and covered in the claim. Aside from one or two minor clean-up issues Jake’s team installed a fantastic looking roof with top quality materials and addressed the minor clean up issue. I’ll recommend Popejoy to anyone looking for great quality workmanship and staff who are always eager to answer questions and clearly explain everything.
